Roy O. McCord received his undergraduate degree with honors from the University of Alabama in 1979. He graduated from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1982.
Mr. McCord is a general trial attorney who has tried many high profile civil, domestic and criminal cases in Northeast Alabama; including a number of capital murder trials.
Mr. McCord was also the Municipal Judge for the town of Sardis City for 27 years. Additionally, he served as the Municipal Judge for Rainbow City and Attalla
Mr. McCord is a member of both Etowah County Bar Association, where he has served as both Vice President and President, and the Alabama Bar Association. Roy is past president of the University of Alabama Etowah County Alumni Association, past captain of the Gadsden Quarterback Club and Chairman of the Etowah County Building Authority. He served his local bar as Bar Commissioner for the 16th Judicial Circuit.
He is married to Carol Ross McCord and has three children; Catherine McCord Baily (who practices law in this firm), Roy Davis McCord II (an engineering consultant) and Mary Margaret McCord (a graduate student at the University of Alabama and Miss Alabama USA 2013).
